2025 Spring Updates

We hope everyone had a lovely break. We are excited as we ramp up for teacher appreciation week and exciting opportunities ahead. Our final meeting of the year will be May 21st as we look to the exciting end of year opportunities and vote on next year’s board officers. Take a look below on our current updates: 

🍃Spring Enrichment: If you have students signed up for Spring Enrichment offerings, please be sure to check the email from Mallory, one of our enrichment coordinators with forms the school needs as they launchy next week! 

🎉Teacher Appreciation Week! May 5-9 Get ready to make Teacher Appreciation Week truly special! We're so excited to celebrate the incredible educators who dedicate themselves to our children every day. This year, the PTO is aiming to make our teachers feel extra loved and appreciated, and Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5th - May 9th) is the perfect opportunity! We have a fantastic week planned with daily treats to show our gratitude. Monday will be a cafe cart, Tuesday will include a visit from the Cookie Monstah truck, Wednesday will feature a chance for teachers to make their own flower arrangement, Thursday, we'll have a parent bake-off, and Friday we will be offering a chance where parents cover classrooms so teachers can have lunch together. 🍰 Calling All Bakers! PTO Teacher Appreciation Bake-Off, open to all parents MAY 8. We're also excited to announce a PTO Bake-Off for all parents! Dust off your favorite recipes and prepare your best baked goods. Share your recipe and you could be a winner! Our teachers will have the delicious task of voting for their favorites in three categories. VIEW DETAILS AND SIGN UP HERE to contribute. Winners will be announced for Best Overall, Best Presentation, Teacher’s Favorite. No store-bought items please. We would also appreciate 5 printed copies of the recipe to share. 

🍝Teacher Appreciation Lunch - Friday, May 9th (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM): We're hosting a special lunch for all teachers to relax and connect. To make this happen, we need classroom coverage! We would love for room parents to volunteer from 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM. During this time, students will enjoy their bagged lunches (provided by the cafeteria for those who normally buy lunch) and write thank you notes to their teachers. Afterward, you can lead a fun "indoor recess" activity (reading a story, a game – we'll provide some ideas to those who sign up. Please sign up to volunteer using the attached Sign Up Genius. 🎁Teacher Appreciation Baskets: Room parents will be collecting donations for gift baskets for teachers along with notes from their students. Keep an eye out for emails from them. 

Thank you in advance for stepping up to make Teacher Appreciation Week a resounding success. Your involvement will ensure our teachers feel deeply valued and supported, not just this week, but throughout the entire year.

✂️Helping Hands May: This year we will have volunteers stopping by Igo to help sort, cut, copy, and laminate for our educators on alternating Friday mornings. Our next day is Friday May 2. Sign up for the weeks you can help to let our project coordinators know how to plan well. Please note any volunteers who come in when school is in session needs to have an updated CORI background check completed. You can visit the school office to get this completed. 🤝Parent Academy May 5: Foxborough Public School’s Community Wellness in conjunction with other community partners have been a great opportunity for parents to connect with one another and important community resources on a variety of topics. Our next session is exploring the topic of anxiety in kids and teens, and knowing when we as parents should be concerned, and how to navigate it.. LEARN MORE & RSVP HERE

📣 Spirit GEAR Fundraiser: As spring and summer are upon us, we are ready to take orders for bag-style travel lawn chairs, folding stadium seat/bleacher chairs, and coolers. CHECK THEM OUT AND ORDER HERE. Please order by May 15.

🏆Spring Spirit Wear Orders: Our Igo Spirit Shop is back open with some new Foxboro gear with shirts, shorts, hats, pajama pants, hoodies, golf shirts, and more- VIEW OUR SPIRIT SHOP HERE Please Order by May 15. 

🛻NEEDED- FOUNDERS DAY TRUCK & TRAILER: Foxborough Founders Day is June 7th, and we are looking for someone with a truck and a trailer we can use for our Igo School Float. Email us at igopto@gmail.colm if you might be able to help us out! 

📚Book Vending Machine Amazon Wish List: The book vending machine has been an exciting addition to our school and adding another exciting element to kids’ birthdays. We are going to need to re-stock soon, so we encourage families to consider donating directly through the wish list our literacy team has set up- you can pick books as a family, leave a gift message, and have the books shipped directly to the Igo School. BROWSE & ORDER HERE
