Fall 2025 Kick off Updates

Dear IGO Families,

The new school year is right around the corner, and I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself and the 2025–2026 IGO PTO Board.

My name is Tersa Harper, and I am honored to serve as PTO President this year. I’m a proud mom of a 1st grader and a 3rd grader, with my oldest now in middle school. Over the past four years, I’ve served as PTO Treasurer and Secretary, and one thing I’ve consistently heard is the need for better communication. This year, our board is committed to keeping everyone informed and connected.

I also encourage you to attend our monthly PTO meetings. They’re the best way to stay updated on school events, fundraisers, enrichment programs, and budget decisions. Our first meetings will be:

• September 16 | 6:30–7:30 PM

• October 14 | 6:30–7:30 PM

• November 18 | 6:30–7:30 PM

Meet Your 2025–2026 PTO Board

• Vice President: Mallory Vaughan – Mom of a 3rd grader and 4th grader. Mallory previously served as Events Coordinator and helped launch our VIP Enrichment Program.

• Treasurer: Melissa Bucaria – Mom of a 3rd grader and incoming kindergartener. We’re excited to welcome her to the Treasurer role.

• Secretary: Lavinia Ratigan – Mom of a 3rd grader and Chair of our BIT Event, which typically raises $10–15K annually as our largest fundraiser.

• Teacher Coordinator: Jo Steege – Returning this year to lead teacher events and appreciation. Jo launched our popular Treat Trolley and coordinated Teacher Appreciation Week.

Upcoming August & September Events

• September 2: First Day of School (Grades 1–4)

• September 3: First Day of School (Kindergarten)

• September 11: IGO Open House

• September 16 (6:30–7:30 PM): First PTO Meeting – Childcare provided. New this year: room parent sign-ups will be happening at the first PTO meeting of the year,  plus a detailed budget review and vote for the 2025–2026 year.

• September 24: Picture Day

Fundraising & Budget Update

We have a commitment to fully support field trips, enrichment programs, and teacher/student activities, this will need to be a strong fundraising year.

• Ongoing Fundraiser – Mabel’s Labels: By purchasing through Mabel’s Labels - 'Mabels Labels: Support a fundraiser and selecting “IGO PTO” at checkout, 20% of every sale goes directly back to PTO. It’s an easy way to support IGO while keeping track of your child’s belongings.

• BIT Event Committee: We are still actively looking for one more representative to help with our biggest fundraiser of the year, scheduled for December 5, 2025, at the Envision Hotel. If you can help secure donations and sponsors and help coordinate execute the event, please reach out—many hands make light work!
